The Home Rule Music Festival is a celebration of Washington, DC’s music and culture. Two weekends, one fest: June 16, 17 & 24.
The festival launches on Friday, 6/16, with a kickoff show at Songbyrd DC headlined by Kassa Overall — cutting-edge drummer/rapper/producer extraordinaire — with sets from D.C.’s own FootsXColes and DJ Underdog.
On Saturday, 6/17, it’s a special day of FREE, family-friendly music at the Parks at Walter Reed. The day will include an interactive mural painting with Art of Noize artists, outdoor record fair, great food trucks, craft brews from Anxo, local vendors, and a full afternoon of live music from living legends and rising stars. Headliners include the iconic EU, Brian Jackson (the leader of Gil Scott-Heron’s 1970s bands), Doug Carn and the Home Rule Band, Kahil El'Zabar’s Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, The Experience Band & Show, and Mark G. Meadows & The Movement will all perform. General admission to this family-friendly event is free and open to the public. A limited number of VIP tickets are also available.
Come out with your family & friends to not only listen to some great music, but also to witness an awesome live mural project by supporting Art of Noize artists.
