We have truly enjoyed a spectacular year with you all and would like to take this moment to thank you for showing up for this community in 2023. We look forward to seeing just how far we will go in 2024 as a result of your steadfast support.

Our 2nd annual Habari Gani! Kwanzaa Fundraiser will be a night of storytelling, dance, poetry, and music as we celebrate Kwanzaa on the day of Nia (purpose)!

The event will feature spoken word, art, and dance led by Taylor Renee (@taylorrenee_db), and will explore the seven principles of Kwanzaa: Umoja, Kujichagulia, Ujima, Ujamaa, Nia, Kuumba, and Imani.

We are overjoyed to include the work of Nerd the Poet (@nerdthepoet) in our lineup for the night. Dominic “Nerd” McDonald, also known as Nerd the Poet, is a young entrepreneur and spoken word artist. He utilizes his personal experiences to minister to and mentor his community through the arts. He is the 2022 winner of Day 8 Publishing's "DC Poet Project." Additionally, he is the 2023 DMV Renaissance Awards Best Male Poet. By writing from his heart and what he sees and hears, he hopes to be a “change agent” for the unheard.
