ARTIST'S STATEMENT

"In these times, I feel it is important that I embrace every divine possibility as a citizen of the universal creative consciousness. The constant goal is to continue in the celebration of black and brown women as we are the vessels that birth the new generations."

BIO

M.Sharps, the creator and owner of "11.22 by M.Sharps LLC" is a native of Washington DC, and a Graduate of Hampton University (Hampton, VA) with BA in the field of Fine Art/Graphic Design.  Her work is Afro-Abstract with influences from the African Diaspora portrayed through color and motif.  In her works she expresses her view of Black Women as she is them and they are her, the eyes in her pieces are absent to allow the viewer to use their vision in an organic way. Its used as catalyst to promote its viewers to create their own vision for each piece. Ultimately, Mercedes uses her platform to promote the limitless style of women of color, non-conforming, flawed yet imperfectly perfect.
